Epic Solo Valentine’s Day Activities in Colorado

Valentine's Day isn't for everybody. If you're single, I can see why you'd scoff at the idea of a holiday for dating. All that unnecessary pressure can really take all the fun out of the day, anyway. It doesn't have to be that way, though.

No, just because you're single, it doesn't mean you have to wallow on the day of love, nor do you have to celebrate Valentine's Day. You can just be. Of course, if you do want to get out of the house to mark the occasion, here are some good ideas to keep you entertained, while avoiding as much of the Valentine's Day fervor as is possible whilst being outside on February 14th.

Go Bowling

There's no rule that says you have to bowl in a group. You can just call it training for the bowling league that you're not actually apart of. Besides, I've had many of the most interesting conversations that I've ever had with strangers at bowling allies across the country.

Head Out for a Drink

They say you should never drink alone, and while that's true it doesn't mean that you can't go to a bar by yourself. In much the same way as the bowling allies above, you can meet some of the most fun people in the world at bars. Sure, there's a problem child in every crowd, but as long as that's not you, there's no reason you can't have a good time.

See a Movie

Another unwritten rule: you must never go to a movie alone, for there is nothing sadder in life. That's a complete lie. What do you think movie reviewers do, at least 7 times out of 10? If it's good enough for Ebert, it's good enough for you on Valentine's Day. Besides, somebody has to see the action movie that day...

When All Else Fails, Just Stay Home

You know, I'm told there's plenty of great content available to us, right in our own homes! It's almost like we live in the future, or something. At the end of the day, if you can't think of anything you can tolerate doing in the real world on Valentine's Day, just stay home. Everything will be ready for Easter, tomorrow.
