What else is there Beyond the Colorado Ski Slopes

Montrose already received a slight dusting of winter’s first snowflakes , it’s the beginning of a wonderful Ski Season here in Colorado. 28 resorts are eagerly awaiting outdoor adventurers. But Skiing and Snowboarding are not the only things these hills are known for...Our Western Slope winter wonderland is filled with other fun things to do, like snowmobiling, tubing, ice skating, snowshoeing, plus soaking in a couple of hot-springs pools. for example:

 1. OURAY HOT SPRINGS 

What better way to warm up than with a soak in an all-natural, mineral-water hot spring , soothing waters with striking views of America's Switzerland.

2. ORVIS HOT SPRINGS in Ridgway

Clothing-optional  lithium-water springs said to enhance your feelings of relaxation.

3. IRON MOUNTAIN HOT SPRINGS in Glenwood Springs

16 pools of steaming natural mineral waters, all of which vary in temperature.

ICE SKATING

Enjoy some old-fashioned ice-skating fun at one of Colorado’s many outdoor rinks. Keystone, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Vail and Crested Butte

TUBING HILLS

1. COPPER MOUNTAIN TUBING HILL, is a well-equipped fun zone, complete with four designated tubing lanes. A “magic carpet ride” whisks you and your tube to the top where friendly staff will give you a good fling and send you spinning down through curves and over bumps. Also check out Critterland. a tiny-tot playland and mini tubing area, is right next door for those under 36 inches tall.

2. TELLURIDE Firecracker Sledding Hill.

Telluride’s  Firecracker Hill, a favorite, if unofficial, sledding hill, located at the south end of Town Park. Telluride Nordic Center rents sleds, and ice skating and cross-country skiing are also available if you’d like to fill an entire day with winter activities.

Backcountry trails lead to fluffy-snow-covered valleys and peaceful stands of evergreen and aspen trees, where the only sounds you hear are chirping birds and your own heartbeat. Rocky Mountain National Park maintains dozens of trails. Grab a trail map and have fun!
