Halloween is right around the corner!

If not costumes, the one thing you can always count on during the Spooky Season is candy! It's as important as a broomstick to a witch, or Al Franken to a -stein. According to studies, Americans purchase about 600 MILLION pounds of candy for Halloween each year!

I don't know about you, but that sounds like a lot to me.

With that much sugary goodness in the wild, it's only a matter of time before kids (and their parents, after the kids go to sleep) start tearing that packaging apart to devour the treats! And with all that face-stuffing comes a whole lot of garbage. Naturally.

Most of that trash ends up in landfills with most of the other things we throw away, but Mars is working with Rubicon Technologies, a waste and recycling solutions group, on a better solution to the Halloween trash problem this year!

According to FoodNetwork.com, these two companies have expanded upon Rubicon's own "Trick-or-Trash" program to provide Halloween-ers with a free, eco-friendly bag with which they can recycle the remnants of their sugar coma!

Just deposit your candy wrappers into the bag once you're done! Prepaid postage is included, so all you have to do is fill the bag, seal it and take it to the post office!

This is, quite possibly, the easiest way to be good for the environment that I have ever heard of in my life. The only good excuse not to get one is the only excuse you need: they're already all sold out!

Gives me hope for humanity, but I really wanted one.

You can take a look at the stylish bag at halloween.mars.com.
