One of the biggest developments to have come from the COVID-19 pandemic is the rise of Americans working from home. Rates reportedly tripled across the country at the height of the pandemic, as companies began to realize that there were plenty of people willing to work in their jammies to prevent the spreading of the virus. It turned out to be a great boon that I'm sure helped ease us all back into a regular workday once restrictions began to relax.

Most would have expected the rates of those working from home to go down, once offices started opening back up, but that hasn't necessarily been the case. In some places, a lot of those people who were willing to work from home got used to not having to get dressed in the morning. Believe it or not, with our state's love of the outdoors, Colorado is actually one of those places.

A press release from the US Census Bureau, sent out in September 2022, revealed that Colorado now ranks third in the United States for those working from home, tied with Massachusetts. The only states with higher rates than ours were Washington and Maryland, but if you lived in Seattle you probably wouldn't want to go outside, either.

The Census Bureau reports that nearly a quarter of the Colorado workforce, 23.7%, primarily works from home. With numbers like that, I think it's safe to say that Colorado has decided that working from home is A-O-K. Does that have anything to do with the legalization of marijuana? I sure hope not, as trying to indulge during the workday sounds like one of the worst ideas I've ever heard in my life. Then again, I like having my faculties about me when I'm on the job. I'm strange, that way.

What do you think? Would you rather work from home, or are you the type that needs to get dressed and go to the office to get things done? Let us know what you have to say about it with AppChat.
