LOOK: Colorado Avalanche Unveil Ridiculously Big Stanley Cup Rings
It feels like we were just celebrating the Colorado Avalanche's Stanley Cup win with that sweet parade through Downtown Denver in late June and come to think of it, it really wasn't that long ago but the hockey offseason is short and tonight, the Avalanche will start their defense of the Stanley Cup with an opening night matchup at Ball Arena against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Before the opening night festivities where banners will be raised, a few happy tears will be shed and bright lights will be shined upon the Avalanche, some beautiful, extremely big and shiny championship rings were unveiled by the team recently and yeah, these rings are just as impressive and incredible as you thought, probably even more so.
These guys have worked all of their lives for this and they deserve them but wow! Each ring is appraised at between $40-$50K, that's the same amount as two of my cars that I own.
Owner Stan Kroenoke did indeed "put a ring on em'" in the most impressive way possible and now the players have a chance to get another one with their title defense getting underway tonight.
So for one final time, let's take a look back at the long road back to the cup for the Avs with this awesome video and I'd like to wish the boys all the best in their quest to repeat as champions.
