Year-Round Fun at the Montrose Community Recreation Center
The weather is cold outside, and where can we hang out besides, will we go to work and spend time at home? I was thinking of some fun. Have you been to the Montrose Community Recreation Center and Filed House? Newer to Montrose since 2017. As you enter the building you are greeted by a large bridge over the front desk. The walkway resembles a railroad bridge which is common to Montrose as the city was born around the railroad.
There is so much to see and do at the rec center. Adventure track, three options for fitness users. A flat section, a hill track, and a stair track. One of my favorite things is the lazy river. It's great for walking. If swimming is your thing they have a 10-lane competitive pool.
Some other unique features are the climbing wall, game room, fit zone room, racquetball courts, many fitness classes, oh and personal trainers. When it's cold in the winter or hot in the summer, it's indoor fun anytime. Don't forget about the Fieldhouse, great for youth and adult activities. There are fieldhouse programs like afterschool, adult and youth soccer, lacrosse, dodgeball, and ultimate frisbee.
You may be planning a birthday party and not sure where. You can rent out the fieldhouse for your next event. The rec center is open Monday thru Sunday. Make sure to check hours for activities, and pool hours too. Time to head over for some relaxation in the lazy river.
