
South Fork’s Unique Outdoor Adventure: Rail Biking on Historic Colorado Tracks
Because of Colorado’s rich history of mining and rail transportation, the Centennial State is home to countless railroad tracks, many of which are no longer utilized. In true Colorado outdoors fashion, one company has implemented a fun and unique activity that uses some of these old railroad tracks.

The company, known as Revolution Rail Co., has numerous locations throughout the country, including one in the tiny town of South Fork, Colorado.

Located at 97 Ponderosa Drive in the town, which boasts a population of barely over 500 people, Revolution Rail Co. offers a number of rail biking experiences.
Colorado’s Revolution Rail Co. + the Experiences Offered
While Revolution Rail Co. is currently temporarily closed due to the seasonal nature of the activities provided, the company will reopen by May of 2026 and will be accepting bookings prior to that.
Revolution Rail Co. has one experience called the Rio Grande Run, a six-mile guided trip alongside the Rio Grande River, another called the Silver Bridge Run, which is a 12.5-mile trip through the Coller State Wildlife area, and a five-mile rail biking experience that includes a rafting trip called Pedals to Paddles.

Each tour is accompanied by spectacular views of the nearby mountains, the river, old buildings, and the stunning scenery for which the Centennial State is famous.
