Recently, Colorado Governor Jared Polis shared the news of Palisade's recent distinction on his Facebook page, noting that it is, "a town that offers a change of pace from typical mountain recreation found elsewhere in the state" and a "particularly fun spot to visit."

Palisade is also well-known as being a destination for fans of outdoor activities including rafting, hiking, and mountain biking.
