Unfortunately, despite the fact that we're all just about ready to bid 2024 farewell, the number of businesses across Colorado that have already bid farewell within the past year feels staggering. The stories regarding these closures hit especially hard when the businesses that have gone out of business have been around a long time, were locally owned and operated, and highly connected to the community.

One of the latest Colorado businesses that has shuttered its doors for good may have only been around for a handful of years, but it served as a haven for stand-up comedy, along with various other art forms, as well as a rare hangout for fans of the Buffalo Bills.

Colorado's Wide Right was a Sports Bar for Comedy + Bills Fans

Since 2020, the building at 2100 Curtis Street has been adorned with a mural of comedy legend Richard Pryor's face along with the quote, "Profane, but also Profound." This sports bar with a reputation for hosting countless events and opportunities for Colorado comedians was known as Wide Right.

Unfortunately, Wide Right appears to have landed on the depressing list of Colorado businesses that unfortunately went out of business in 2024.

Not only was Wide Right known for heavily and consistently supporting local comics with frequent shows, open mic nights, and other events, but the sports bar also served as the go-to hangout for fans of the Buffalo Bills smack dab in the middle of Broncos Country.

While the bar is listed as permanently closed, you can look back at many of Wide Right's past events that are still listed on the business's official website.
