Sadly, as we approach the end of 2023, we look back and are reminded about the many various closures all over Colorado. Be it huge national chain stores like Big Lots, Bed Bath & Beyond, or TJ Maxx, to local Colorado-owned and operated restaurants like what we're talking about today—too many closures for one year.

This restaurant has been locally owned and run for the last two decades, so saying goodbye was difficult for its current customers and staff. The good news is that you can still get their food.

Brewery Bar III Mexican Restaurant In Lone Tree, Colorado, Closed After 20 Years

After opening in the old Tivoli Brewery in the 1950s, "Brewery Bar" moved its location from the Tivoli in Downtown Denver to its current location at 150 Kalamath St. in Denver back in the 1970s.

Thirty years later, "Brewery Bar III" would debut in Lone Tree, but sadly, that location wouldn't have quite the storied run as Brewery Bar II, as they have officially closed that location for good after 20 years.

Regarding rumors that Brewery Barr II will also be closing, the Brewery Bar owner, Doug Lundstrom, denied the rumors and told our friends at the Westword:

Brewery Bar III has closed. ... I am retiring somewhat. Brewery Bar II is still open and I’ll be at that location.

As far as the rich history of Brewery Bar II, which is the second-oldest Mexican restaurant in Colorado, he also told Westword:

Abe Shur was the original owner starting in 1954 at the Tivoli Brewery — that’s why it’s called the Brewery Bar. Then in 1974, he lost his lease and moved on Kalamath, which my family owns the block. He leased the building from us from 1974 to 1994, when we bought the Brewery Bar II.

While we're sad to see the Lone Tree Brewery Bar location close down, we're happy the Denver location of Brewery Bar II is still going strong.

How have I lived in Colorado my entire life and loved Mexican food and missed this place? I have no idea, but it's most certainly on our list to try.
