Who are Hakkaido Ramen Restaurants in Colorado?
There is a ramen restaurant chain that's beginning to take over Colorado in a very subtle way. They only have four locations in Colorado (soon to be five) but they appear to be all different.
Hokkaido Ramen House Coming to Northeast Loveland, Colorado
I was driving to work from Downtown Loveland to Downtown Windsor in mid-March of 2025, and noticed a new restaurant sign had gone up hear the intersection of Crossroads Boulevard and Fairgrounds Avenue. A ramen restaurant.
The sign for a new ramen restaurant in Loveland, Hokkaido Ramen House, went up on March 12, 2025.
I'd never heard of Hokkaido Ramen House, so I looked them up and found that there were already four in Colorado, including one already in Loveland, but it's named Bowl Izakaya. That Loveland Bowl Izakaya is one of four (soon five) Bowl Izakayas in the state.

Hokkaido's website lists Bowl Izakaya's Loveland location as one of their four restaurants in Colorado; it very confusing, to me. Are the other Bowl Izakaya's in Colorado not part of Hokkaido?

Hokkaido's website tells of how they started out in Montana and Idaho in 2021. In March of 2025, it looks like they have a couple dozen locations, from coast to coast.
Colorado Hokkaido Ramen locations (as of March 2025:)
- Grand Junction - Known as Koi Ramen & Sushi.
- Colorado Springs - Name uncertain.
- Fort Collins - Known as Kujira Ramen.
- Loveland - Known as Bowl Izakaya.
- Loveland - Known as Hokkaido Ramen House.
I'm guessing this all comes down to how the franchising works; for example, it could be that a franchisee can use the Hokkaido model as a template, but they have to use a different name. The new one in Loveland, "Hokkaido Raman House," may be a location owned by the original Hokkaido owners.
Whatever the reason for the "confusion," it's good to have more ramen/sushi places around Northern Colorado.
