In Loveland, in what used to be a Colorado Hobby Lobby location, there resides a Picklr, and indoor pickleball court facility. That Picklr opened in 2023; two years later, Loveland Police were called to the location due to cars being damaged. It's true that some people just do not care  for the sound of pickleball being played; is that the reason that an older gentleman damaged cars outside the Picklr?

If you've played pickleball or been around a game being played, you know that paticular sound of the ball being hit does make a noticeable "bonk," but you have to be fairly close to the court to hear that; it'd be tough to hear that out in the parking lot of Picklr. Maybe the person involved had other reasons for causing, as Loveland Police put it, "heavy damage" to three vehicles.

I've been to that parking lot where Picklr is in Loveland; Chuze Fitness is there, and gets pretty busy; as does Starbucks which is also there. I know people that want to dine at Cocina & Cantina Mexican Grill often have a hard time finding parking. It's one thing to have to walk a bit to get to the front doors of Chuze or Picklr, but a long walk to get into Starbucks or Cocina & Cantina can be frustrating. Maybe the frustration of too many cars in the parking lot it what sent someone "over the edge" on November 26, 2025.

That day before Thanksgiving, someone damaged three vehicles in that Picklr lot;  Loveland Police believe a man photographed by one of the cars that was "keyed" can lead to information on what exactly happened. Many on Facebook commented that he resembles Steve Martin, which would be fitting for Thanksgiving and "Planes, Trains and Automobiles."

MORE LOVELAND - How the Downtown Safeway Looked On Its Last Day

When I paid my last visit to the Downtown Safeway on its last day, October 25, 2025, it was with trepidation: I didn't want to see how sad it probably looked, but like watching a wreck on the highway, it was hard to not see the how it looked.
