Outdoor concerts in Colorado are one of the best things about living in the state. When a venue that holds outdoor concerts shuts down, It's a shame. When its city rallies to bring it back to life, it puts a smile on your face.
Loveland's Foote Lagoon Receives Long-Needed Repairs
It was in late 2024, that it was announced that the Loveland's Foote Lagoon, which has been arounds since 1987, was in need of serious repairs, exceeding $100,000. With Loveland's General Fund losing $10-15 million in tax revenue, things seemed pretty dire for the future of Foote Lagoon.
The Civic Center project in Downtown Loveland was completed in 1987 at a cost of $15 million, featuring the library, the municipal building and the lagoon/amphitheater.
In early August of 2025. much to my surprise, the City of Loveland had begun repairs on the lagoon, according to the Reporter-Herald. The lagoon needed 14,000 square feet of fresh concrete and a new rubber lining, costing $500,000 total, which came from a yearly mid-year budget appropriation.
Concerts, Weddings to Return to Civic Center Park in Loveland
The amphitheater portion of the Foote Lagoon can hold up to 300 spectators with performers, events happen on the "island" of the lagoon. Seeing a concert or a wedding there can be very memorable.

It's great that the city found the money to get these repairs done; visiting Civic Center park just isn't fun without water in that wonderful pond as you walk around it. There's a water feature of whale's tail that sticks out of the water; without the water, it looks sad and wrong.
