Coloradans That Really Love Spaghetti Don’t Need Special Glasses For The Solar Eclipse

Colorado won't see the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024, only about a 77% eclipse. Though we won't get the full affect, we still need to protect our eyes.

There's a good chance that you don't need to buy or build anything to do so, especially if you are a fan of pasta.

The path of the full Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024, will pass over Colorado from about 11:30 a.m. until about 2 p.m. that day. Thousands of Coloradans will be out trying to get a safe glimpse of the event, even though it's a workday/schoolday.

Leading up to April 8, lots of people will be scurrying to the Wal Mart, Lowes, or Home Depot to get a pair of official "eclipse safe" sunglasses, or trying to make a pinhole viewer/camera.

If you're a fan of spaghetti, or other pasta dishes that need to be boiled and strained, you're already set to go.

Instead of buying glasses that you'll rarely ever use, or trying to find a box to make a pinhole viewer, hit the cupboard and grab one of your colanders.

Heck, why not have a big pasta dinner the night before the eclipse, to both celebrate the eclipse coming and to keep the colander out, so you don't forget it on Monday? It's food and science, put together.
