Catch These 14 Great ‘Colorado’ Movies in Northern Colorado This Summer/Fall
To help celebrate Colorado's 150th birthday, a film festival was created to showcase movies involving Colorado in one way or another. Greeley and Fort Collins will be showing 14 of those films over five months.
What is the Special Film Festival Traveling Around Colorado?
The CO150 Film Fest was established as a "celebration of the place we call home— told through the voices, visions, and vistas that have defined our past and continue to shape our future," according to its organizers. It's just another way for us to take pride in The Centennial State: Movies that have a connection to Colorado, in one way or another.
Are They Showing 150 Different Movies or... ?
The way the festival works, is that there will be 150 screenings/showings of selected movies about Colorado from June into November. It's not about 150 different movies being shown, just 150 screenings. The total list of movies is about 40, Northern Colorado will be showing 14 of them with 20 screenings between The Lyric in Fort Collins and The Kress in Greeley. You could call it the "NoCo20."

These are movies that are connected to the state: Either having been filmed here, it takes place in Colorado, an actor/director is/was from Colorado, When the festival was first announced, they had a long list of "contenders" that might be shown; my picks were way off - I went 0-13 on my guesses as to what ones would come to Northern Colorado.
The selection of films/movies that Fort Collins and Greeley are all very good; from comedies to dramas, award-winners to just "popcorn fun" movies. It might be an opportunity to see a film you may have forgotten about but want to see now, now that you know that it has a Colorado connection.
