Being that Colorado is such a "land-locked" state, finding a great seafood restaurant can be tricky, at times. Sometimes you find one that doesn't take itself too seriously, like this one you'll find in Fort Collins, and you'll just have a good time while having some seafood.

For 10 years (2009-2019) there was Famous Dave's barbecue restaurant in Front Range Village of Fort Colllins off of Ziegler and Harmony Road. I used to go in there on Sundays, because on Sundays if your name was Dave, you'd get a free beer. Five years after Famous Dave's closed down, a new seafood restaurant took over the space, which is a big space; you would think it would be some corporate owned restaurant, but it's not. It's locally owned, Captain Hook Seafood.

Fort Collins Seafood Restaurant Has a Pirate Ship Inside

I, myself, am not that big of f fan of seafood, so I hadn't been into Captain Hook before finding out that they'd actually installed a "Pirate Ship" in the middle of their main restaurant area. I couldn't believe it: "Where would they even get one?" I thought to myself. So, I had to go see it for myself; I found that ship and more. This place seems like a real "experience" destination, judging by the way they have it decorated.

While the restaurant is known for their seafood boils, the atmosphere of the spot also stands out. The seats are made from what look like kegs, like you'd find on a ship, there are "30,000 Leagues Under the Sea" vibes with some of the décor items, and of course, that pirate ship.
