Girl Scouts Changing Lives in Montrose

I was out grocery shopping yesterday and was so happy to see the Girl Scouts selling cookies in front of Walmart. It made me think of the days I was a brownie scout before I became a Girl Scout. My favorite cookie is thin mints, but I also like too many to name.

What age are Brownies Scouts?

Typically second and third grade, 7 to 9 years old.

When do you join Girl Scouts?

Anytime from kindergarten through 12 grade.

Why do Girl Scouts sell cookies?

It supports trips they want to attend. It also gives them skills for becoming successful adults in their community.

What are the benefits of being a Girl Scout?

There is a lot of team building, community projects, field trips, and most importantly lasting friendships formed along the way.

Girls Scouts go way back to being started in 1912 in Savannah Georgia. Over 100 years later improving young girls' lives. I will never forget being a Brownie scout, and then a Girl Scout.
