CSU Spur is Three Buildings Full of Education Including Live Dog Surgery
Maybe you've heard about the CSU Spur and maybe you haven't. It seems to still be a bit of a mystery. The goal of the CSU Spur is to invite everyone and anyone to learn about all kinds of cool stuff. They phrase it as "a free, public learning destination for everyone."
CSU Spur has 3 beautiful, cutting-edge buildings on the grounds of the National Western Campus off I-70. These buildings are titled Vida, Terra and Hydro.
CSU Spur partners with the Dumb Friends League, Denver Water, the Temple Grandin Equine Center, and the CSU College of Agriculture. Spend a day wandering through these buildings experiencing "a laboratory, veterinary clinic, market, museum, art studio, classroom, garden, innovation center…all in one!"
Vida is about animal and human health. The second location of the Temple Grandin Equine Center is in this building. There are live dog and cat surgeries that you can observe and an underwater treadmill for horse therapy.
Hydro focuses on water and has the most delicious farm-to-table cafe.
Terra focuses on food and agriculture. There is a rooftop greenhouse that must be really beautiful in the summer. There's also a food lab.
