When someone asked me what my favorite song about Colorado was. I know he was testing my music trivia, but the first three songs that came to my mind about Colorado were from my childhood.

Two silly towns I still know the words to the other, a song my mom used to always sing when she was doing things she loved. Mostly in humming form, but when the song was one. It was full-on singing mode.

Make Those Miracles Happen

Let’s start with one of the silly ones. The first song that popped into my mind was “Make Those Miracles Happen”, sung by Broncos Fullback Jon Keyworth. The song was inspired by the Mile Hi Miracle of 1977. It would be the Broncos' first appearance in a Super Bowl. Beating their arch Rivals since the AFL days, The Oakland Raiders.

If I Had A Wagon

My first real experience of Colorado music was back in Elementary school. I was in 3rd grade. I could swear we sang this song every time in music class. Or, it could be it's just so darn catchy. Sorry if this one gets stuff in your head.

Rocky Mountain High

Colorado was a big influence on the music of John Denver. John’s real name was Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. His Dad was a pilot in the USAF, so he moved around a lot as a child. He lived in Aspen for much of his life, and he was known for his love of Colorado. The Colorado state legislature also adopted "Rocky Mountain High" as one of its two state songs in 2007. My mom wore her 8 Track machine down to the nub playing his music.

Rocky Mountain Way

Joe Walsh had a special love for Colorado. He helped organize a new studio around Nederland and made a deal to record his music within the studio it became known as the iconic Caribou Ranch Studio.

Get Outta Denver

Bob Seger was on the run and looking to Get out of Denver baby go, go..’. I picture him riding off on a Harley. Any thoughts?

ODd in Denver

Colorado inspired some Bad Memories for Hank Jr.
